What is programming?

Programming is literally all around us. From the takeout orders to the movies we stream, code enables everyday actions in our lives. Technology companies are no longer recognizable as mere software companies – instead they deliver food to our door, help us hail a taxi, influence the outcome of a presidential election or act as a personal trainer.
