OpenShift is a family of containerization software products developed by Red Hat. It is the leading Kubernetes enterprise platform that enables a cloud environment wherever it is deployed. OpenShift helps you develop and deploy applications on one or more hosts. These can be public web applications or back-end applications, including micro services or databases. At the same time, it enables efficient orchestration of containers, which enables fast provisioning, deployment, scaling and management of containers.
Red Hat OpenShift and Kubernetes are both container orchestration tools. OpenShift is adapted for the enterprise environment and has undergone further testing and includes additional features that are not available from the Kubernetes open source project.
OpenShift offers consistent security, integrated monitoring, centralized policy management, and compatibility with Kubernetes container tasks. It’s fast, allows self-service setup and integrates with a variety of tools.
