There are 34 ITIL management practices in total, representing some of the most practical resources of the framework. We start with the management practices covered in the ITIL 4 Foundation, based on the practice guides. The practices are also enriched with additional guidance on the capability model based on the ITIL 4 maturity model.

Course description

This module ensures that accurate and reliable information about the configuration of services and the configuration items that support them is available when and where needed. This includes information on how configuration items are configured and the relationships between them.

Target group

The ITIL 4 Practitioner: Service Configuration Management practice module is for IT professionals who want to prove and validate their skills in this specific practice area. The individuals can demonstrate their understanding and application of the key concepts, principles, value and challenges of the practice at both strategic and operational levels, maximising value from the Service Configuration Management practice area. 

Course structure

This course will help you to:

Collect and manage configuration items (CIs) which typically include hardware, software, networks, buildings, suppliers, products and services
Efficiently provide useful configuration information to the organisation, ensuring that the costs of obtaining and maintaining it are continually optimised
Improve risk management
Manage the capacity, availability and security of IT services and components
Measure, assess and develop the Service Configuration Management practice capability in your organisation by using the ITIL Maturity Model

Retake

With the retake if an unsuccessful outcome occurs for your initial exam, then the re-sit option it is enabled. When your official exam results become available, you are notified by e-mail to schedule your re-sit exam. It will be conducted through online proctoring offering you flexibility to take it from your home or office, at the time of your convenience. You have up to 6 months to prepare and take your re-sit exam from the date of your initial exam.

Prerequisites

ITIL® 4 Foundation + exam is a prerequisite for studying Service Configuration Management.
