A management practice is defined as a set of organisational resources designed for performing work or accomplishing an objective.

There are 34 ITIL management practices in total, representing some of the most practical resources of the framework. We start with the management practices covered in the ITIL 4 Foundation, based on the practice guides. The practices are also enriched with additional guidance on the capability model based on the ITIL 4 maturity model.

This module focuses on how to plan and manage the full lifecycle of all IT assets, to help the organisation maximise value, control costs, manage risks, support decision-making about the purchase, re-use, retirement and disposal of IT assets, meet regulatory and contractual requirements.

Target group

The ITIL 4 Practitioner: IT Asset Management is intended for IT professionals who want to prove and validate their skills in this specific practice area. The individuals can demonstrate their understanding and application of the key concepts, principles, value and challenges of the practice at both strategic and operational levels, maximising value of the IT Assessment Management practice in their everyday work. 

Course structure

This course will help you to:

Ensure that the organisation has relevant information to enable informed decisions throughout the lifecycle of its IT assets
Continually monitor and optimise the utilisation and maintenance of IT assets
Increase compliance with legal and regulatory requirements
Increase alignment of IT investments with evolving business objectives and needs
Measure, assess and develop the IT Asset Management practice capability in your organisation by using the ITIL Maturity Model

Retake

With the retake if an unsuccessful outcome occurs for your initial exam, then the re-sit option it is enabled. When your official exam results become available, you are notified by e-mail to schedule your re-sit exam. It will be conducted through online proctoring offering you flexibility to take it from your home or office, at the time of your convenience. You have up to 6 months to prepare and take your re-sit exam from the date of your initial exam.

Prerequisites

ITIL® 4 Foundation + exam is a prerequisite for studying IT Asset Management.
