A management practice is defined as a set of organisational resources designed for performing work or accomplishing an objective.

There are 34 ITIL management practices in total, representing some of the most practical resources of the framework. We start with the management practices covered in the ITIL 4 Foundation, based on the practice guides. The practices are also enriched with additional guidance on the capability model based on the ITIL 4 maturity model.

Course description

This module focuses on how to move new or changed hardware, software, documentation, processes, or any other component to live environments. It may also be involved in deploying components to other environments for testing or staging.

Target group

The ITIL 4 Practitioner: Deployment Management practice module is for IT professionals who want to prove and validate their skills in this specific practice area. Upon successful completion, IT professionals can demonstrate their understanding and application of the key concepts, principles, value and challenges of the Deployment Management practice at both strategic and operational levels, maximising value from this practice area.

Course structure

This course will help you to:

Deploy or remove products, services, and service components from or to different controlled environments, including development, integration, production, test, staging and live environments
Effectively remove products and services from designated environments
Establish and maintain effective approaches to the deployment of services and service components across the organisation
Ensure the effective deployment of services and service components in the context of the organisation’s value streams
Measure, assess and develop the Deployment Management practice capability in your organisation by using the ITIL Maturity Model.

Retake

With the retake if an unsuccessful outcome occurs for your initial exam, then the re-sit option it is enabled. When your official exam results become available, you are notified by e-mail to schedule your re-sit exam. It will be conducted through online proctoring offering you flexibility to take it from your home or office, at the time of your convenience. You have up to 6 months to prepare and take your re-sit exam from the date of your initial exam.

Prerequisites

ITIL® 4 Foundation + exam is a prerequisite for studying Deployment Management.
