Zabbix Team is pleased to announce the availability of the Zabbix 5.4 version. The new release comes with scheduled PDF report generation, robust problem detection, advanced data aggregation, and other significant improvements.

Scheduled PDF report generation
- Zabbix will generate and send customized daily, weekly, or monthly PDF reports. Now any Zabbix dashboard can be turned into a PDF report! Access to this functionality is controlled by a new user role.
Much more powerful problem detection
- Now Zabbix supports simple yet extremely flexible new syntax for problem conditions. It makes possible the creation of highly sophisticated conditions for real-time problem detection. Also, a new set of operators, statistical, mathematical, and string functions was introduced to make it even more powerful.
Advanced data aggregation
- The aggregation capabilities of Zabbix were extended to support the selection of metrics by various conditions including metric wildcards and tags. It simplifies data aggregation for capacity planning, business-level monitoring, and advanced problem detection. The existing functionality of aggregated metrics was merged into calculated metrics for simplicity. Now Zabbix uses unified syntax for everything: triggers and calculated metrics!
Visualization improvements
- Zabbix 5.4 features unification of functionality for screens and dashboards and introduces support of multi-page dashboards. One platform to visualize all your data!
API tokens for secure integrations
- Support of named API tokens with expiry date helps integrate Zabbix with 3rd party systems easily and securely. A new user role controls who is allowed to create API tokens.
More power to tags
- Zabbix 5.4 drops support of host-level applications and replaces them with metric tags. Now tags are supported for all critical objects in Zabbix: templates, hosts, host prototypes, triggers, metrics, and events.
