If you work in the technology industry, you love numbers and data that you can put in context. If you are currently looking for a job and thinking about working abroad, we believe that this study will be even more valuable for you. Our partner, CompTIA, researched the trends in the recruitment of technical workers in 11 European countries and summarized them for you in clear tables.
The study was developed based on an analysis of employer job posting data collected and aggregated by Lightcast. It is therefore the current data processed in Q2 2023, based mainly on the data of Q4 2022. The main goal of the study is to provide useful information for employers, job seekers, economic and labor agencies, politicians, the media and other entities.
Key findings for the Czech Republic: According to the study, technical workers are most in demand in Prague and Brno, where the largest concentration of workers in the technology sector is located. The most popular areas of demand are Software Developers, Programmers and Web, Systems Analysts and Cybersecurity, Network and Systems Admin and Technicians and IT Support Specialists and Technicians.
From the above figures, we can see that the demand for technology workers in the Czech Republic is still high, especially in the capital city of Prague and other important cities such as Brno, Ostrava, Olomouc, etc. It is therefore crucial for tech workers to focus on some key areas, such as software development, systems analysis and cyber security. It is interesting that 40% of advertisements in the Czech Republic require workers to have 0-2 years of experience in the field, so it is relatively easy to enter this industry as a newcomer.
In addition to the Czech Republic, the study also provides a comparison with other European countries. The Netherlands, Poland, France, Germany and Italy posted the most job postings in the technology sector. Here you will find a specific comparison of the demand for those workers across regions and individual countries.
The situation is therefore currently very favorable for technology workers, as the demand for their skills is high in the Czech Republic and in Europe. Focusing on key areas such as software development, systems analysis and cyber security can improve your chances of landing attractive jobs. Another option to differentiate yourself from other applicants is of course the education that will suit you for a successful career in this dynamic and growing field. The entire study, including tables and comparisons of individual countries, can be found here.
