Red Hat and its Red hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) has been for long almost synonym to Linux server in the enterprise environment. Even though the focus of Red Hat shifted from server OS to virtualization and cloud business since RHEL 7 introduction, all Red Hat products are powered by a variant of RHEL 7 under the hood.

Since the initial RHEL 7 came almost 5 years ago, a new version has been anticipated and debated on the internet for quite log. The long awaited RHEL 8 was publicly announced at November 14, 2018.
