CompTIA IT Fundamentals+ certification has been replaced by the new CompTIA Tech+!

The CompTIA IT Fundamentals+ certification ended on July 31, 2025, and was replaced by an entirely new version of the entry-level certification – CompTIA Tech+, which better reflects current trends and labor market needs.

The CompTIA Tech+ certification provides the fundamental knowledge and practical skills needed to navigate today’s digital world and gives you the confidence to take your first step toward a career in technology.

The course content focuses on six key areas:

  • IT Concepts and Terminology – basics of computing, units, data types, binary and hexadecimal notation, fundamentals of troubleshooting.

  • Infrastructure – working with hardware (PCs, mobile devices, IoT), components, storage, virtualization, cloud, and basic networking principles.

  • Applications and Software – operating systems, file systems, applications, web technologies, and emerging trends such as AI tools.

  • Software Development Concepts – programming basics, data types, algorithms, variables, functions, and object-oriented thinking.

  • Data and Database Fundamentals – relational and non-relational databases, tables, keys, backups, and cloud storage.

  • Security – principles of confidentiality, integrity, and availability, device protection, encryption, and security best practices.
